Tandem - FWCP
Definition
A tandem jump lets an untrained passenger discover skydiving while attached to a tandem instructor. It is also a professional FWCP discipline with its own rules, qualifications, and exams.

Requirements
- C License.
- Minimum 400 jumps.
Practical exam (Annex H)
- Safely follow a filmed tandem (exit, flight, deployment).
- Maintain distances, never pass under the tandem/drogue.
- Proper track at deployment.
Skills
- Capture external tandem video/photos.
Handycam Tandem (camera carried by the instructor)
Requirements
- Be an FWCP tandem instructor.
- Have ≥500 tandem jumps.
Requirements
- Camera mounted on helmet/wrist with secure system (no poles).
- Allowed only for experienced tandem instructors to avoid mental overload.
Skills
- Manage tandem safety and on‑board video simultaneously.
General conditions
Passenger must meet medical requirements (medical certificate, weight/BMI within manufacturer limits).
Instructor must be qualified and current with FWCP license.
Specific certified Tandem gear (passenger + instructor harness, drogue system, tandem canopies, AAD required).
Tandem progression for the instructor
Access requirements
- Be an FWCP base instructor.
- Minimum 1000 jumps and 8 hours of freefall.
- Pass the FWCP tandem course led by a tandem examiner.

- Perform tandem jumps with passenger.
- Give passenger safety briefing.
- Check tandem gear and harnessing procedure.
Tandem Examiner
Requirements
- Be a confirmed tandem instructor.
- Minimum 1500 tandem jumps and ≥5 years experience.
- Proposed by the Technical Director (TD) and validated by the FWCP board.
Skills
- Supervise and validate tandem instructor courses.
- Award the tandem instructor qualification.
Obligations & Maintenance
Tandem instructors must complete at least 25 tandem jumps per year to maintain qualification.
If inactive >12 months → requalification jump under supervision of a tandem examiner.
Any incident must be reported to the TD and recorded.
Pricing
Courses are provided by FWCP and validated by it.
Requests must be sent to the federation in advance to be accepted or not.
- Training cost: 1250 euros VAT included (850 euros for the instructor and 400 euros for the federation)
- Crossover: 250 euros VAT included
Payment is made to the federation's account and we remunerate the various participants.
